Alszwang

Translation: Alszwangen, German Allschwangen, Alschwangen, small town, county Hazenpocki, province Courland, about 25 wiorst [1 wiorst=.066 miles] from Goldyngi. Parish Catholic church of St. Michael the Archangel established 1623 by Count Jan Ulryk Szweryn. Catholic parish deanery in Courland: 9169 souls, with a branch in Felixberg (church of St. Joseph from the year 1862). The parish of Alszwang contains the more important villages of: Adsen, Bassen, Gruddeneeken, Felixberg, Pewikken, and others. In Alszwang there is an old castle from the crusades, in ruins, built in 1372 by master builder Wilhelm Von Freimersen.
